A Ruptured Digital Epidermal Inclusion Cyst: A Sinister Presentation
Epidermal inclusion cysts are benign cutaneous lesions caused by dermal or subdermal implantation and proliferation of epidermal squamous epithelium as a result of trauma or surgery. They are typically located on the scalp, face, trunk, neck, or back; however they can be found anywhere on the body. متن کاملPenile Epidermal Inclusion Cyst
We report a case of epidermal inclusion cyst in a 32-year-old male. This was a complication of circumcision that was neglected over years to form stones and urethrocutaneous fistula. Complete excision of the cyst and repair of the fistula were performed successfully. Histopathological examination confirmed our diagnosis.
متن کاملA Case of Digital Myxoid Cyst Coexisting with Epidermal Inclusion Cyst.
A 62-year-old male developed a solitary asymptomatic nodule on the lateral aspect of the distal interphalangeal joint of the right great toe. Histopathologic findings demonstrated a myxoid cyst with a concomitant epidermal inclusion cyst. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of concurrent occurrence of digital myxoid cyst and epidermal inclusion cyst. Although the exact mechanis...
متن کاملRuptured Hydatid Cyst with an Unusual Presentation
Ruptured pulmonary hydatid cyst may sometimes cause complications like empyema, bronchopleural fistula, and collapsed lung. These complications may mislead the diagnosis and treatment if prior evidence of cyst has not been documented before rupture. We present a case of a young male who presented with complete collapse of left lung with pyopneumothorax and bronchopleural fistula which was misdi...

Epidermal inclusion cyst (EIC) arising from the breast is an uncommon benign condition. We report two cases of enlarging EIC of the breast in two women in their forties. The diagnosis of this condition may not be straightforward with imaging alone if an EIC presents as an enlarging lump in the breast and mimics a benign breast lesion, most commonly a fibroadenoma or malignant lesion with benign...
